Sidenote

If you comment on my blog please write your first name in the comment. Thank you

In your face Michael Jackson I made it.

Athens is a very cool place. I'm experince here so far is going 140 kilometers per hour though it in a crazy taxi ride, but before I talk about Greece let me bring you on my journey to Greece.....

A long, long, long time ago in a distant land called Canada, a young boy has missed his plane...WAIT, WAIT WAIT, we knwo this part. It happened like this, the plane from Vancouver to T-O or Toronto as some people call it, left at 6:00am. The agent lady told me I had to be ther at 3:am, but she was wrong 4:30 would have been just great. Being tired and stressed out I feel like a bag of shit. While getting into Toronto was a blasty-blast I was waiting there for 4 hours until my plane left. In that time i downed a few rum and cokes, to ease the stress...... On the flight to Toronto to Frankfort was really weird..I was sitting in a 3 seat row thing....(basically there were three seats) I was at the window and this girl about 25 years old and German, pretty hot can't lie. Well you know how it happens, you start to talk, talking leads to flirting (Bunting if you ever read this I know you saying, "ohhh yeah baby." But it never ended up in a fun gender related event, no i fell asleep then 5 minutes later, She is using me as a pillow. I was like, whatever and went back to sleep. All I can ask is this, Who talks to someone for 10 minutes then have them sleeping on you the whole trip? In my conclusion of this whole thing is we talked and shit happens when you party naked.
When I got into Athens, I was worried about getting to my hotel. I had two options go on the railway system of death or get a taxi. I went and got a taxi.....Nobody told me that driving in Athens was going to be that frigging scary. The dude was going like a buck 40 in a 50 zone. Holy Balls. Freaked the shit out of me. It was almost one of the times when you get where you are going, kneel on the ground and kiss it, but no way i was going to kiss the ground.
So, now I'm typing in an internet cafe, with random Greeks around me taking in the whole experience. Take that Michael Jackson, I made it to Greece, in you face Mr. Thriller, A.K.A little boy lover. Fuck you.

Question 8

As my fellow fans read my blog, you would have noticed I only have 7 questions. Well here is the 8th question, category FEARS; What you happen if I miss my flight? This question is one of life's great questions. You could almost compare this question to; what came first the chicken or the egg? This is my story answering my 8th question....

The day is Sunday, May 25th. The time is 6:00am in the morning, and I've been ready to leave the house for an hour, because in one more day I leave for Greece at 12:20pm, May 26th. That my fans is what you call a fairy tale. This is the true story of what happened. Hungover at 5:30am, was a best friends 20 birthday. Thinking to myself, "Wow, I'm so lucky in one more sleep I'm in Greece." We (as in my parents) drive to Naniamo because my dad has a hockey meeting. I sleep in the truck because I'm still tired.
I wake up from my nap, by a phone call. It went like this.....

Kevin-Hello
Cousin Chad- Dude, your so fucked. You missed you flight man.
Kevin- Haha, you can joke man.
Chad- No man, this lady named Collen called us.
Kevin- FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I'm so fucked.
Chad- Calm down get Pat and figure this out.
Kevin- No shit dumb ass.

What a great way to be awakened, its not girlfriend waking you up in the yes, I love you kind of way. The problem was I leave on the 25th of May and get to Greece on the 26th. I don't leave on the 26th. One quote comes to mind. "Welcome to fucking adulthood bitch!"

So, there is me freaking out, heart pounding, sweating, swearing under my breath. Pat (a.k.a. step mom) is calling every travel place on the island. After my being sick countless times because of the stress, I get great news. I have a flight to Athens, At 6:00am on May 26th. In the end I will be behind my group by half a day, and another plane ticket that costs more money. Yes, my parents are so proud of me. I get to fly be myself, alone, and totally scared. But, there is a person who taught me about the "under glimmer". Now, if this is some kind of test that is giving to me from some higher power, great so far I'm passing, or if it is a test to see how far I can be fucked with, I'm passing. No matter how dumb and stupid I felt, I feel as if my journey to Greece will be a little more exciting that my groups. I have to do this on my own, (not really though my family really made a great game time decisions). I have to face internation airports by myself, jump in a taxi and get to my hotel. Then once everyone sees me and is like, "ohhhhh my god, you made. You are so stupid." I have to stand up tall and be like. " Yes, I fucked up, but I'm here. If you have something to say about this little event, say it in yoru head because I don't want to hear if from you."
This little event with the whole Greece trip, is something I well remember. No one ins the group will have this experince. It's my under glimmer on the first days of going to Greece.

I will say goodbye for now, I have to go sleep, and be up at 2:30am. I'll leave you with this note:
Don't be scared when the unexpected comes up, stand up tall, be strong, and drink a lot of water.

Act 1 Scene 2

Hey,
So, it is my second entry in this so called blog. Not much has change but i leave to Greece in about 7 days, boo ya grandma. I have built a scale-ish model of the Temple of Nike, and that was hard. I used old pieces of wood from a fence. Looks like a fourth grader had built it, but that works since the real Temple of Nike is a ruin. I'll just say i was was going for the real thing. I have started on these cards called bubblegum cards, which is for my History portion of the class. They are a lot of fun. I have learned to surf the web, (because I've never done that...). I'm like the guy sitting at Tofino's wave break calling out waves. The one thing I need to do is write down 20 questions for my English class. Damn it, can't do it now it is dinner time. I still live with the parents, no big deal. The time of right now is 5:31 pm, lets see when i get back to finish this blog.
Well the time now is 10:12pm, not bad considering all the things I have done in the time I have been missing. I have eaten dinner, finished building my Temple of Nike, had a shower, went to a friends house to grab random belongings of my parents and stubbed my toe. All great things other than the who toe thing, that bastard of a wall just jumped right out at me.
20 Questions

Crazy Culture Differences
1) I wonder if in Greece the men and women go by conventional fashion?( In the sense that men wear pants not 3/4 shorts)
2) If I will see any out spoken yelling from the older generations directed at the youth like I have seen on Television?
3) If I will stand out as being a tourist, because of the way I act in general and act when I see something new?
4)If the language barrier is going to be as tough as i think it is going to be?

Gender Relations

5) If not being able to speak Greek with have a huge impact on having contact with the other sex (females)?
6) If how I meet girls in Canada is going to be seen as rude, innocent, or just plain out pathetic?
7) If seeing a couple in a town act the same way as a couple would act anywhere else, or are their courtship ways different?

Well I really need to so 13 more but seeing I have worked like 5 days in a row at 12 hour shifts and having 2 days off before the 5 days working making it a total of 7 days, but before the 2 days off having worked another 4 days I'm pretty sleepy. I still have to work tomorrow, go to school tomorrow, write an exam in Geography 112, and finish reading Helen of Troy. I'm drained. I'll finish this tomorrow.

Have a great night my fellow fans and always tip +10% when at a restaurant, but if the food sucked only go 8%.

Act 1 Scene 1

The Low Down

Hey, My name is Kevin Labatt. I'm from a small town on Vancouver Island. I'm 19 years old and going to school at North Island College. I like to party and have fun. Hockey and snowboarding are my two favorites things to do other than girls, (no pun intended). I'm very outgoing and speak my mind, which gets me in a lot of trouble but, trouble can be fun.
I have been granted the chance of a life time to go on a 1 month trip to Greece with the College. I'm pretty much stoked on this. Mainly because, I was going to take some time off my schooling to go traveling anyways, but hey, why not take out two birds with one stone. Go traveling and get school credits for it. The courses I will be taking on this trip are an English course, History course and, a Anthropology course. To be truthful, English is not be best subject, History is a great thing to learn about but, there's always so many essays to do. which in turn involves some great knowledge on witting skills (skillz). As everyone knows is English in a nut shell. Great.... Anthropology is awesome. Pretty much the Cheese to my macaroni, (Juno, 2008).
The teachers have loaded us with about 6 tons of homework. This blog being on of them. Which is a great idea, minus the need to be witting in perfect APA style writing and, not the normal "MSN" language, but there are somethings in life you have to sacrifice. One being the MSN 1337 (LEET) language.
So, I will stop writing here for the day. I want a chai tea, and a scone. Just keep reading my blogs my fellow fans and, don't eat the yellow snow.
